Research Summary:

Monica's background is diverse and builds upon interdisciplinarity, from theoretical Plasma Physics to observational/theoretical Astrophysics (star formation; supernovae), to Condensed Matter Physics (catalysis, hydrogen storage, graphene, Earth's core).

Her current research interests are in the general area of materials modelling, with specific applications to mineral physics. She is particularly interested in studying the Earth’s core and its chemical interactions with ab-initio calculations. She is also interested in material design applied to graphene, heterogeneous catalysis and hydrogen storage.
