Abstract

The IOP Publishing Academy works with Young Researchers to provide educational resources about the sometimes complex world of academic publishing. In this workshop on “How to get Published” we’ll help you learn more about how to choose a journal, how to prepare your paper, the peer-review process, ethical issues, and promoting your work once you’ve published.

Tom Sharp

I work as Publisher of Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter (JPCM) and Electronic Structure (EST). This involves determining journal strategies, working closely with our Editorial Boards, and commissioning content. I joined IOP in 2016 as an Associate Editor, prior to which I studied Epidemiology at Bristol and Natural Sciences in Bath.

Georgia Longstaff

I am an Associate Editor at IOP Publishing. This role involves managing the peer review of scientific manuscripts from receipt to publication across a number of journals. Currently the journals I am working on are Nanotechnology, Smart Materials and Structures, and Superconductor Science and Technology. Before joining IOP I completed an integrated masters in physics at the University of Bristol, and graduated in 2016.
