THOMAS YOUNG CENTRE:
THE LONDON CENTRE FOR THEORY AND SIMULATION OF MATERIALS
The leaders of TYC research groups welcome enquiries about available PhD positions in their groups - either those listed online or to find out about any other opportunities.
Many of the groups can offer studentships that are funded by UK or overseas research councils, by collaborations with government or industry, by international partnerships, or by Centres for Doctoral Training.
Our list of PhD. Positions Available on these pages gives information about some of the funded studentships available.
If you have your own funding, and you are seeking a suitable project, then we recommend that you look at our People and Research pages to find research areas and PhD supervisors appropriate to your interests.
If you are a non-UK student, you may want to consider applying for a scholarship. Your application for a scholarship will need to be supported by a particular research group, and you should start by making informal contact with suitable research groups. You should be aware that the award of scholarships is extremely competitive.
Please note: when first making contact with a PhD supervisor, you should always attach your c.v.
