The workshop will focus on light-matter interactions involving small metal nanoparticles and regimes when quantum effects are relevant and give rise to novel phenomena with potential for technological applications and advances in basic science.

Within the series of ETSF conferences, the 2016 edition will focus on emergent phenomena in correlated systems. The aim of the workshop is to foster the interaction between the theory community, experimentalists and industry on this scientifically challenging and technologically relevant theme.
The aim of this workshop is to present and discuss techniques and applications of theory and simulation that are specifically dealing with the properties of materials at high temperatures and/or pressures. These properties may include electronic properties (conductivity, thermoelectricity), phase stability, processing, microstructural evolution and mechanical properties.
